Role Overview


The UX & Design Manager will lead, manage, and grow a team of design and UX specialists as part of the larger product team. The role is approximately 75% hands-on, with the ideal candidate having an excellent understanding of UX methodology and practises, as well as an exceptional eye for detail in design. 


The successful candidate will be confident managing resource and team workload, client relationships, and taking lead on design or UX projects.


This is an opportunity to build a fast growing, multi-disciplinary team, and to work on projects for a wide range of large, well-known clients


A "Typical" Day in the office

  • 9.00am - You're leading on the design of an intranet project so a stand-up to see how our super-talented team of designers are progressing.
  • 9.30am - Surprise!  We don't have a sales team.  One of our partners has introduced us to a new client so you're showing them exactly what Reply can do for them, whilst understanding their business needs.
  • 10.00am - The meeting went well so you're setting, reviewing, challenging and communicating the design direction with the team.
  • 12.00 - Lunch time! Or if you're feeling sporty, there's time to hit the gym with our flexi time benefits.
  • 1.00 - You have read a few interesting articles on the latest UX trends, services, tools and best practices and its time to share them with the team.
  • 2.00pm - Deliver all wire-frame and design tasks for allocated clients, including advanced responsive projects
  • 5.30pm - Quick beer with the team, game of DOTA, Xbox Fifa tournament or out for a game of Frisbee, we're a diverse bunch so there's always something going on.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the workload and utilisation of the design and UX team (currently a team of 4)
  • Take ownership of our design standards and provide oversight across all projects
  • Deliver high quality designs across a wide range of projects
  • Propose and deliver tailored UX processes for a wide range of projects
  • Understand and represent the value of data-driven design wherever possible


Requirements

Here's what's important to us:

  • Strong communication and management skills
  • Confidence and knowledge of UX design and research methodology
  • Strong skills is design tools, including Sketch and Photoshop
  • Skilled in prototyping tools, including InVision
  • Understanding of HTML/CSS
